Books about science and cooking – some are there to educate, some to make you a better cook – some are not really intended to be used as recipes but purely as tools for leisure. The extraordinary cookbook is one of the fun, yet useless ones.
An example of the useless items in it is how to fry an egg on paper
The writer Stefan Gates is a children’s TV presenter so I’d guess the recipes are created for parents to use to impress their kids, rather than their friends!! My kids are just getting into cooking – but I think I’d like to get them going with a few basics before I take in the direction this book is likely to lead them – after this then everything else might be a bit too mundane to them!
